Le guarnizioni Leidenfrost sono unità complete, pronte per il montaggio, costituite da due anelli a labirinto, atte ad impedire la penetrazione di liquidi sotto forma di spruzzi o di impurità granulari su parti rotanti di macchine.
Il procedimento di lavorazione speciale garantisce l'assoluta identità dei profili dei labirinti dei due anelli: il risultato è un'unità indivisibile, senza attrito, costituita da un anello interno in acciaio e un anello esterno in alluminio. I profili presentano almeno tre canali.
Campi d'applicazione: macchine utensili, strumenti di controllo, macchine confezionatrici, macchine tessili, unità di trasmissione, impianti per l'industria estrattiva, macchine per l'industria alimentare, attrezzature per il trasporto di generi alimentari.

- Efficacia basata sull'elevata precisione degli anelli e del gioco di tenuta ottenuta mediante processo speciale di lavorazione
- Gioco del labirinto progettato per un ideale compromesso tra tenuta efficace e sufficiente gioco assiale e radiale
- Idonee a temperature elevate fino a 170 °C grazie all'uso di materiali metallici
- Alta limitazione di velocità fino a circa 50 m/sec
- Dimensioni uguali o simili ai cuscinetti volventi corrispondenti
- Assenza d'attrito: nessuna perdita di potenza, nessun calore di tenuta, nessuna usura
- Montaggio facile anche in spazi ridotti
- Riduzione dei costi di energia, manutenzione e sostituzione

Tipo "M" — Per impurità granulose e forti spruzzi di liquido
Il tipo "M" presenta sulla fascia periferica delle scanalature che espellono, grazie alla forza centrifuga, l'eventuale liquido penetrato nella tenuta, guidandolo in una cava anulare nell'alloggiamento e da qui all'esterno tramite un foro di scarico.
